Chosen to rule the Underworld, Hades was among the strongest of the Old Gods, if not the strongest. He was cunning and strong-willed, which made him a perfect ruler of the Underworld, but did not want to rule it forever. Hades always vowed that one day, when given the choice, he would leave the Underworld behind and return to the heavens once more.
